At Skippack Pharmacy, we believe a pharmacy’s role extends far beyond prescriptions — it’s about people, compassion, and community. Our Community Corner celebrates the ways we give back, connects neighbors during times of crisis, and makes healthcare and everyday essentials accessible for all in Montgomery County.

Caring Beyond Prescriptions Because Community is our Calling

When the recent government shutdown left thousands of Pennsylvania families without their essential SNAP and WIC benefits, many parents suddenly found themselves unsure how they would feed their children. Overnight, we heard from families across Montgomery County who were scared, overwhelmed, and looking for help.

In that moment, our community stepped up.

Stop Hunger Montco was born from those urgent calls — a grassroots, community-powered effort led by Skippack Pharmacy to connect families in crisis with food, resources, and emergency support. Thanks to the generosity of our neighbors, local restaurants, donors, and partners, we were able to help bridge the gap when families needed it most.

Today, we’re grateful to share that SNAP and WIC benefits have been fully restored for the vast majority of Pennsylvanians. But while this crisis has passed, the need has not.

Food insecurity doesn’t end when benefits return.

As we transition this effort back to the dedicated local food pantries and organizations who serve families year-round, we want to extend our deepest thanks — to every donor, volunteer, partner, and neighbor who helped fuel this initiative.

Because of you, families were fed.
Because of you, no one had to face this alone.
And because of you, our community is stronger.

Below, you can continue to find resources available in our local community & if ever in need, just reach out to our team & we’d be happy to connect you.

Our Story

A little over six years ago, the doors to this pharmacy were closed. But our story didn’t end there — it began again, with you.

When our founder, Dr. Mak, saw a community without a trusted local pharmacy, he made it his mission to reopen those doors — not just as a place to fill prescriptions, but as a place to fill hearts. A place that would always put people before profit, care before convenience, and community before everything else.

From day one, our neighbors stepped up. Over 1,000 volunteers mobilized during the pandemic to help us vaccinate, deliver medications, and protect those most vulnerable. Together, we transformed a small independent pharmacy into a movement — one built on compassion, unity, and service.

Since reopening, Skippack Pharmacy and our community partners have donated over $1,000,000 in healthcare support, supplies, and financial assistance — helping over 100,000 people through outreach, vaccinations, testing, and essential care.

Today, that same spirit continues to guide everything we do. Whether it’s providing free Narcan to combat the opioid crisis, donating to food pantries, or ensuring uninsured patients get the medications they need, we remain committed to one simple truth:

A pharmacy should be more than a place for medicine — it should be a pillar of hope.

Because here in Skippack, we don’t just serve a community — we are the community.
