Skippack Pharmacy is a participating Vaccines for Children (VFC) provider, helping eligible children and families access important childhood and adolescent vaccines close to home. Eligible children ages 18 and younger can receive VFC-supplied vaccines at no cost for the vaccine itself.
After having vaccinated over 10,000 children since opening its doors to the community in 2018, Skippack Pharmacy is 1 of 2 pharmacies in the state of Pennsylvania who is a trusted partner and official VFC provider in helping children receive the vaccines they need to stay healthy & stay in school.
Does My Child Qualify for VFC?
Your Child May Be Eligible if They Are 18 Years Old or Younger
VFC eligibility is based on the child’s age and insurance or eligibility status.
A child may qualify for the Vaccines for Children Program if they are 18 years of age or younger and meet an eligible category.

Routine, Catch-Up & School Vaccines for Eligible Children
Skippack Pharmacy offers a wide range of childhood and adolescent vaccines through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program.
Available vaccines depend on your child’s age, vaccination history, VFC eligibility, recommended dosing schedule, and current inventory.
DTaP
Diphtheria, Tetanus & Pertussis
Routine childhood vaccination against diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough.
Tdap
Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis Booster
Commonly needed for adolescents and for Pennsylvania school requirements.
Td
Tetanus & Diphtheria
A tetanus and diphtheria vaccine used when appropriate based on age and vaccination history.
Polio (IPV)
Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccine
Routine childhood protection against poliovirus.
MMR
Measles, Mumps & Rubella
Routine childhood vaccination that also helps satisfy Pennsylvania school immunization requirements.
Hepatitis B
Protection against hepatitis B infection.
Hepatitis A
Protection against hepatitis A infection.
Varicella
Chickenpox Vaccine
Routine childhood vaccination against varicella.
Meningococcal ACWY
MenACWY / MenQuadfi
Protection against four major groups of meningococcal bacteria. This vaccine is also required at certain points for Pennsylvania school attendance.
Meningococcal B
MenB / Trumenba
Protection against meningococcal serogroup B disease for eligible adolescents when appropriate.
HPV
Human Papillomavirus / Gardasil 9
Helps protect against HPV infections that can cause several types of cancer and other diseases.
Hib
Haemophilus influenzae Type B
Routine childhood protection against serious Hib infections.
Pneumococcal
Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine
Helps protect children against serious infections caused by pneumococcal bacteria.
Pediarix
DTaP + Polio + Hepatitis B Combination Vaccine
A combination childhood vaccine that can provide protection against five diseases in a single injection when appropriate.
What About Flu Vaccines?
Seasonal influenza vaccination may also be available for VFC-eligible children. If your child only needs a flu vaccine, please use our regular pediatric flu-vaccine registration option so we can route the appointment appropriately.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Vaccines for Children, or VFC, Program is a federally funded program designed to help eligible children receive recommended vaccines regardless of their family’s ability to pay for the vaccine itself.
Skippack Pharmacy participates in the VFC Program as an enrolled vaccination provider.
VFC eligibility continues through age 18.
That means an eligible child who is 18 years old may still qualify.
Once the individual turns 19, they are no longer eligible for vaccination through VFC.
Not necessarily.
Children may qualify through several VFC eligibility categories, including Medicaid eligibility, being uninsured, or being American Indian or Alaska Native.
Underinsured children may also meet federal VFC eligibility criteria, but Pennsylvania limits the locations where underinsured children can receive VFC vaccine.
If your child is underinsured, contact our team before scheduling so we can confirm the appropriate location.
Children who are Medicaid eligible can qualify for VFC vaccines.
Bring your child’s current Medicaid information to the appointment.
CHIP and Medicaid are not always treated the same for VFC eligibility.

For an eligible VFC patient, the VFC-supplied vaccine itself costs $0.
A vaccine administration fee may apply.
Skippack Pharmacy currently charges $20 per dose for eligible non-Medicaid VFC patients.
An eligible child will not be denied VFC vaccination solely because their parent or guardian cannot afford the administration fee.
Yes. Many children can receive more than one vaccine during the same visit when appropriate. The vaccines that can be given depend on your child’s age, previous vaccination history, timing of prior doses, eligibility and current vaccine availability. Bring your child’s vaccine record or school notice whenever possible so our team can review what can be administered during the visit.
That depends on your child’s grade and vaccination history.
Pennsylvania has specific requirements for school attendance, with additional vaccine requirements when entering seventh and 12th grades.
We strongly recommend checking with your child’s school nurse before scheduling.
Ask the school to tell you exactly which vaccine or dose is missing.
Our team can review available vaccination information and administer appropriate vaccines, but your child’s school determines whether their documentation satisfies the school’s attendance requirements.
If possible, bring written information from the school showing exactly what is missing.
We will do our best.
Complete the registration form and select the appropriate VFC/school vaccine option.

Include your child’s name, age, the vaccine the school says is required, and when it is needed.
Do not include unnecessary sensitive medical information in an unsecured email.
Advance registration is strongly recommended so our team can confirm eligibility, vaccine availability and appropriate staffing before your child arrives. Registering ahead also provides the fastest experience when you visit.
Some younger-child vaccinations require specially arranged staffing.
If you cannot select the appropriate VFC vaccine for your child’s age through the registration form, do not choose an incorrect age or vaccine.

Vaccination does not replace regular pediatric care, and we encourage families to maintain an ongoing relationship with a pediatric or primary-care healthcare provider whenever possible.
Seasonal influenza vaccine can be available through the VFC program for eligible children.
Our available products can change throughout the flu season.
If your child only needs a flu vaccine, use our regular pediatric flu-vaccine scheduling pathway so our registration system can route the appointment correctly.
