What is Medication Synchronization?

Medication Synchronization is a program offered through Skippack Pharmacy that orchestrates refills of medications to all fall on the same day. Not only does this reduce the number of calls that you need to make to the pharmacy to request refills, but it also reduces the number of trips to the pharmacy that you would otherwise need to take to get each prescription from the pharmacy.

Who can benefit from Medication Synchronization?

Patients who would benefit the most from Medication Synchronization programs include those patients who are on several chronic medications and take several trips to the pharmacy every month. Med Sync allows for an uninterupted continued use of these chronic medications without the hassle of making several trips to the pharmacy every month.
Skippack Pharmacy team members have been slowly enrolling patients they believe would benefit from the med sync program.

If your RX bag says “MedSync,” or “PartialToSync” on it

you may get this message the next time your meds are due:

How’s Med Sync Work?

This is what you’ll do when you see the text message pop up for Med Sync:
  1. A text message will be sent to you 1-3 months from now (based on if you get a 30 or 90-day fill of your medications:
2. Once you click on the link (can be off your computer or cell phone), you will be taken to a page on your preferred web browser where you will be asked to verify your last name and date of birth:
3. After typing in your information and clicking on the “verify” button, you will be taken to the page shown below:
4. Clicking “Next” will take you to the following page:
This page will list all medications that you are currently filling with Skippack Pharmacy. It will already have every medication listed checked off to be included in the Med Sync. However, only select the medications that you would like our team to get filled for you (ex. chronic medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.).
If you wish to take certain medications off of the Med Sync, click on the green check mark next to the medication name to remove it. For example, I do not need levothyroxine this month because I have extra from before:
Once you are satisfied with the list of medications that you want us to fill for you, you will click the “Next” button at the bottom right-hand side under the medication list.
5. From there, you will be taken to this next screen where you will be asked if you need any other items from the pharmacy. This includes things like over the counter products sold within the pharmacy. For this example I selected “Yes.”
I then typed in the word “Tylenol” since I want Tylenol along with my prescriptions when I stop in to pick them up.
6. After clicking the “Next” button underneath the item you chose or if you did not need an item and selected “No” on the previous screen, you will be taken to this next page (shown below) where you will be asked if you or your doctor have made any changes to the medications you’ve been taking in the past month. Examples include stopping a medication, taking a new medication, or changing how you take a medication.
If you select “Yes” you will be prompted to explain which medication has changed and how.
7. After clicking the “Next” button underneath your explanation or if you selected “No” because your medications have not changed. You will be taken to this next page (shown below) which then asks you whether or not you’ve experienced any problems or side effects with any of your current medications.
If you select “Yes” you will be prompted to explain which medication has caused the side effects and what the side effect was.
8. After clicking the “Next” button underneath your explanation or if you selected “No” because you have not experienced any side effects with your current medications, you will be taken to this next page (shown below) which then asks you whether or not you’ve been to the hospital or emergency room in the last 30 days. Here you will either select “Yes” or “No.”
9. After choosing your answer, you will be taken to the last page (shown below) which will explain when your medications will be available for pickup and our contact numbers if you were to have any other questions.  You will still receive a text message like you usually would saying your medications are ready for pick up.
