- Your medication (PGE, Trimix, or Quadmix
- Alcohol swab
- Syringe (usually 0.5 mL insulin syringe)
- Sharps container for disposal
2. Prepare the Medication
- Wash your hands.
- Use a clean, sterile syringe.
- Draw the prescribed dose (usually between 0.05 mL – 0.3 mL depending on your doctor’s instructions).
- Remove air bubbles by flicking the syringe and pushing the plunger slightly.
3. Choose an Injection Site
- Inject into the side of the penis (10 o’clock or 2 o’clock position), avoiding veins.
- Alternate sides with each injection to prevent scarring.
4. Administer the Injection
- Wipe the site with an alcohol swab.
- Hold the penis gently but firmly.
- Insert the needle straight in (not at an angle) and inject slowly.
- Withdraw the needle and apply light pressure with a cotton pad or swab for 1-2 minutes
