Semaglutide is a popular weight loss injection that helps suppress your cravings by mimicking hormones that are naturally released in the gastrointestinal tract when you eat. This weekly injection prompts the body to produce more insulin, reducing blood glucose levels and helping you control your appetite so you can lose weight and focus on establishing healthy eating habits.

While semaglutide is an effective weight loss tool, it can also have other incredible health benefits. Semaglutide can lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death for individuals with type 2 diabetes or those struggling with heart disease. Another weight loss injection that can help you navigate your weight loss journey is tirzepatide. Also known as Mounjaro or Zepbound, tirzepatide is an effective weight-loss injection that has been used to assist adults dealing with obesity or weight-related conditions. As with any medication, each person responds differently to any medication they take.  Everyone’s situation is a little bit different so we always recommend speaking to your health care provider and getting their thoughts.

Patients who are approved by their provider/doctor to receive weight loss medication. All patients will need to have a valid and active prescription for an injectable medication containing semaglutide or tirzepatide that allows for substitution or compounded formulation.

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2). Contraindications also exist for patients with known hypersensitivity reactions to other brand-name and generic formulations of semaglutide and tirzepatide.

Before begining weight loss medication, please let your doctor/provider know if you have any of these conditions:

• Kidney disease
• Gallbladder disease
• Severe gastrointestinal disease
• Eye disease, diabetic retinopathy
• History of pancreatitis
• History of hypoglycemia
• Allergies to semaglutide, tirzepatide, other medications, foods, dyes, and preservatives
• Pregnant or breast-feeding

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are currently not covered by insurance and will be available OUT OF POCKET ONLY.  You can use your HSA card if you would like.  The pricing for a month’s supply of compounded medication including supplies and a complimentary consultation with our staff are as follows:

Yes, since the medication is a healthcare product/RX – this can be paid for via an HSA card.  You can use the HSA card when making the payment.  You will receive a secure link to pay AFTER you fill out the initial step, “interest form.”

Yes, only if it was filled as a compound before. In a majority of cases, if the script was sent to a CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid, etc. your provider sent it to be filled as the brand (and not the compound) thus the best way for us to process your order is through a new script from the provider as it would need to say substitution or compound permissable.

The medication will come in a multi-dose vial which is available in different strengths. 1 vial of the compounded medication is good for 28 days (4 once-a-week injections).  Along with the medication, our team will provide complimentary: the syringes with needles & alcohol swabs  needed for administration along with education.

You may order up to a 3-month supply at a time; however, if you are starting the medication, your dose may change, in which case you may want to order 1-month at a time.  Once the product is ordered/paid for, there are no refunds.

Once punctured, single-patient-use and multiple-dose containers should not be used for longer than the assigned BUD (beyond use date) 28 days—to minimize the likelihood of microbial contamination.

Yes, you can buy multiple vials of your specific strength at once – when you make the payment online, select the quantity of vials you would be purchasing.  If you are just starting the medication, just make sure the strength you buy isn’t going to change the following month.

The question does arise, if my prescription is for a strength which equates to a 1ml vial, can’t you use fill a 3ml vial & I’ll just use that 1 vial over a period of 3 months?  This would be amazing; however, as mentioned above, the beyond use date on the vials is 28 days once punctured.  If you received a 3ml vial and used 1ml (4 injections) for your dose for that month, you would be wasting the other 2ml.

At home, you will use a syringe to draw up your instructed dose from the medication vial which will be given via subcutaneous (under the skin) injection. After the first puncture of the medication vial, the vial is good for 28 days. Please discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

The medication should be stored in its original container in the refrigerator until it is ready for use. Your dose may be injected while cold. Alternatively, you can draw the dose into your syringe and let the syringe sit at room temperature for 15 minutes prior to injecting. 

Some people find the injection more comfortable if done at room temperature.

This medication is expected to have the similar side effects to other semaglutide products, tirzepatide products, and GLP-1 agents.

The most common side effects include gastrointestinal related symptoms such as nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and vomiting.  Many of these can be reduced with vitamin supplementation.  Consult with your healthcare provider for full details; however, we have heard certain vitamins can help reduce these side effects.  You have the option to add these vitamins onto your medication purchase when making the payment.

If extreme sensitivity reactions occur such as rash, shortness of breath, or swelling in your face or neck, report these to your prescriber/doctor immediately.

No, it does not.  The compounded semaglutide and terzipatide we provide DOES NOT have vitamin B12 mixed in.  Each vial contains the active ingredient: either semaglutide or tirzepatide AND inactive ingredients: benzyl alcohol and dibasic sodium phosphate, in sterile water for injection.  The original brand name products, Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound do not have B12 thus we have opted out of this.

 We know there are options available online where the compound is combined or mixed with vitamin B12; however, after consulting numerous local practitioners who recommended we do not mix the ingredient in, the compound we provide does not have B12 mixed in.

Our pharmacy DOES carry vitamin B12 and other vitamins which can be depleted in tablet formulation that you can pick up with your RX or have shipped to you.  You will have the option to add these items to your order if you would like on the payment form OR please see the vitamin aisle or speak to a team member.

Each month, you will receive 1 vial that includes the medication your provider has ordered for you.  The specific amount of mL in the bottle is dependent on  your dose.  Typically, patients have taken this medication once a week.  A best practice is taking it at/around the same time each week so you remember.  Setting a reminder on your calendars or phones is also not a bad idea.

When it comes to your last injection (4th dose), please be sure to click on the same secure payment link you will receive from our team when you first get approved.  This link is used each month when reordering.

You will have the option to select if you would like 1, 2, or 3-month supply and inform our team if you will continue the same dose or take a different strength.  We can  use existing refills or scripts on hold to fill your next order.  If no refills remain, your provider will need to send a new script.

FDA approved brand drugs which contain the active ingredients semaglutide and tirzepatide are currently on a national shortage. During a drug shortage, pharmacies are able to compound a drug so that their patients still have access to it. To our knowledge, compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are common and legal as long as the compounded drug does not contain a salt form. Skippack pharmacy receives their compounded product from a well-established 503A compounding pharmacy who has up-to-date accreditation from the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) and collaborates exclusively with FDA-registered API manufacturers.
